As you already know, commission rates vary with each type of insurance plan you sell. For example, life and auto insurance are usually among the best selling and commissions are usually high. On the other hand, business insurance is typically not as profitable. This is due to the the high competition because business are required to buy insurance.

The key that an insurance agent must follow to increase his or her income, is to build valuable relationships with your clients. This method helps you achieve long-term profitability through referrals and repeat business.

The best time to build a solid relationship with a client is when he’s in the process of building his new business. Be there to answer any of his questions.
